bad smell in the room

This is no Westin or "branded" hotel so you pay for what you get but for a longer stay, I wouldn’t recommend it. With the pool view (of the apartments across the way and their private pool) you can’t have your shades open otherwise they can see in and the room was quite dark and depressing for such a long stay especially when it rained most of the time I was there (the weather is not the hotel's fault, I know). I was on the hunt for an affordable place as we just opened an office in Singapore and will have many people flying in and out frequently for short term stay. I stayed for 10 days so at this point you really get a feel of it all. However, the loft is a terrible use of space (not worth the money) and looked MUCH bigger in the photos and had a bit of a smell that I got used to. FYI the place for hanging your clothing is small but there are drawers under the stairs. I’m petite so I can’t imagine 2 people in the loft. Plug-ins didn’t work so well, it was a hit or miss at times. I don’t usually sleep with my cell phone near me and the room doesn’t have an alarm clock. I would not recommend dining at Beast and Butterflies, aside from Linda, the staff was so rude, and didn't seem happy at all. I extended my stay for one more night and they didn't tell me breakfast was NOT included in the price of the loft, but included my entire 9 days there. So the staff at the restaurant came to my table, so rudely in front of everyone saying I was not allowed to eat breakfast and had to pay and I said I would pay for it at my checkout. Then the short Indian man came running after me telling me I had to pay and I said I would at the front desk, then I get up to my room and I was literally locked out, for not paying my $18 breakfast that I said I would. I would not give them my business or my company's business ever again. Definitely would go back to say hello to Linda though :)

half of the staff at reception is excellent - half really needs training and a good mood unfortunately… so just have to be lucky it seems when you check in or need something. it’s a very nice place, but do bear in mind that rooms are small. and one thing that could be improved: swimming pool- it’s nice on the 5th floor (outside), but they should just decorate it and have the bar open, and make it appealing. so easy, and would bring much added value.

Only bad point is the perfume they use on the floors, really too strong.

Room small, bed and desk to close and hard to work. No place to meet business contacts and have short private meetings or share powerpoint presentation.

Air-conditioning didn't seem to work on the first night of my stay and it was very hot. I requested for the iron and ironing board to get my business wear ready but despite promising to send over in the later evening, it did not show up even the following day. Had to rush off for work in the morning and it was still not in the room when I returned at the end of the day. Had to go to the reception to request again before it was finally sent over. The toilet door was also very heavy and closed with a hard slam as difficult to control it.

I was charged SGD 500.00 as guarantee for the 2 nights stay. I was told that it will be refunded to my credit card, but details is vague. I was just advised to wait for the refund to reflect. Would have been better if it’s indicated in Booking.com before I booked.

Not sure if the air con is clean or not but I had asthma halfway through the night. when I stepped out of the property I was fine

No toilets in the reception area, only two small single toilets in the adjacent restaurant and these only available during the restaurant/bar opening hours. The bar also closed at 11:00pm so the staff would ask you to pay your tab and leave. Had to take our drinks outside in a plastic cup and sit there and finish them. I think they were short on staff.

air conditioning was slightly problematic in the room. thermostat would default to the coldest or warmest temperature.

Room service was not room service. I ordered from the restaurant downstairs and was made to collect it myself. Laundry was not delivered, and when I called reception, I was abruptly asked to pay for the service before I could receive my clothes. With that being said, generally, the staff are very friendly and helpful.

The room was quite small, the location a bit far away from public transport.
