This is a classic old style small boutique hotel. It is in a quiet French style mews in the interior of the block so close but yet away from the busy Main Street . The hotel is clearly owned and run by family or small group of shareholders and the staff take pride in running the building and serving staff from early check in and bag management to keeping my london bound family box of baked goods in the fridge . The building interior is clean and well maintained even if it is older and dated ; but it is like mom’s house - it works , it has character, it is very clean and it is an efficient use of resources. It is not a pretentious place but Carrie’s itself with pride of place and quality service where the staff know the guests and want to help . I like lower monmarte and opera area - charming , bustling and a bit edgy in places , but safe and close by walk or metro to shopping museums and business. There is a bit more elegance to at Germain and I still like the edgy chic of monmartre. By the way when I stay in at germain I stay in an old style boutique hotel like this . I want the staff and owners to know how much I appreciate the upkeep of the hotel and earnestness of the staff
No criticism of note . They know who they are and what they do and so it well .
